Workshop Plant Care

You made it. Now let’s keep it alive. Here’s how to care for your workshop creations so they thrive long after you leave the shop.

Kokedama Care

Light

Bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun—it dries the moss quickly.

Water

Check daily. When dry, soak 5–10 minutes, then fully drain.

Airflow

Good ventilation helps prevent mold. Avoid damp, stagnant areas.

Fertilizer

Optional. Use diluted liquid fertilizer monthly during growing season.

  • Handle gently—this is a living sculpture
  • Rotate weekly for even light
  • Talking to it is optional… but encouraged

Bonsai Care (General)

Light

Bright, indirect light. Rotate weekly.

Water

Keep soil slightly moist. Check daily—bonsai dry out quickly.

Airflow

Needs good ventilation. Avoid humid, closed areas.

Fertilizer

Use balanced liquid fertilizer monthly.

  • Do NOT prune young trees yet
  • Focus on keeping it healthy first
  • Admire often—bonsai love attention

Common Bonsai Types

Dwarf Jade Bonsai

Light: 4–6 hours direct sunlight

Water: Let soil dry before watering

Soil: Cactus/succulent mix

Care Tip: Prune after new growth appears

Ficus Ginseng

Light: Bright, indirect light

Water: Keep slightly moist

Humidity: Prefers higher humidity

Care Tip: Can tolerate pruning

Juniper Bonsai

Light: Full sun, best outdoors

Water: Slightly moist soil

Soil: Well-draining mix

Care Tip: Do not aggressively prune old wood
