What is a kokedama?
Kokedama means "moss ball" in Japanese. Instead of a pot, your plant's roots are wrapped in soil and a blanket of soft green moss, tied with twine into a ball you can set on a dish or hang. It is equal parts plant and sculpture.
In this class you build one from scratch at our studio table in Apex. No pot, no mess to take home, just a living little piece of art. It is one of the easiest ways to try something new with plants, even if you have never kept one alive.

How the class works
First, book your spot online and pick a date that works. We hold a seat for you at the table.
On class night, come in and settle in. We hand out the plants and materials, then walk the whole group through building a kokedama step by step.
You leave with your finished moss ball and simple care tips. Come in, get your hands a little dirty, leave happy.

Do I need any experience to take a kokedama class?
No. Our kokedama class in Apex is built for beginners. We show you each step, from choosing a plant to wrapping the moss, and you never have to know a thing about plants ahead of time. Most people finish surprised at how good their moss ball looks.
How much is the kokedama class and how long does it run?
The class is $70 per person and runs about an hour. That covers your plant, all the materials, tools, and hands-on help. You walk out the same night with the kokedama you made, no extra charges.
How do I care for a kokedama at home?
Kokedama are easy. You water by soaking the moss ball in a bowl for a few minutes when it feels light, then let it drain. We send you home knowing exactly how often to do it for the plant you chose.
Where is the class held?
At our shop in Apex, NC, in Peterson Station near Sunset Lake Road and Stephenson Road on the Apex and Holly Springs line. It is a short drive from Cary, Fuquay-Varina, and southwest Raleigh.
